LAMPS Tutorial
|

This tutorial is about the compilation, installation and configuration of a LAMPS server. It explains, among other things, the installation of Apache, Mod_Perl, PHP, Mod_SSL, MySQL, PostgreSQL and PDFLib, gives examples and shows how to test the components. The operating system is Linux. The LAMPS tutorial is intended for webmasters and web developers who want to set up a test system. These are the current versions:
LAMPS 2.0 for Apache 2.0.50, PDFLib 6.0.0p1, PHP 4.3.8 (new)
LAMPS 1.3 for Apache 1.3.27, PHP 4.3.1

Why?

The tutorials that I have found on the web never really installed what I needed and, therefore, I have written my own one.
Since I wanted to record the proceedings for my own purposes, it stood to reason that I publish them on the web. And, as I can see from my emails, it was helpful for some of you.
In case the LAMPS tutorial contains mistakes, I would appreciate a message to stengel@eFactory.de.
I plan to add i.e. some PHP modules to the tutorial in the future, but since I am short on time it will take a while.
